Early September to early October, 2011. (season varies from year to year)
Tuesdays 1-6- Saturday 11- 4 Sunday 12-4
We are open these hours, rain or shine, during harvest season at our vineyard.
Because grape ripening is influenced greatly by the season's weather, we cannot say exactly when varieties will be ripe and ready to harvest. As the season progresses, we update the estimated harvest dates on the site.
We strive to have our grapes of the highest quality for winemaking, juice, or jam. Because of this we prefer to pick when they are at the height of ripeness and quality.
Update: 2011 has been a great harvest. We were fortunate to survive a cold, late spring and then enjoy a very hot summer so the vines could ripen their grapes fully. It has turned out to be a very good year. In fact, this may have been one of our best cros. We expect the 2012 crop to be smaller because the vines had to work so hard in 2011. Still smaller doesn't at all mean lower qualitu. It is easier to ripen a small crop than large, especially if the season isn't long.
See you at the vineyard.
We are close to begin pickiing 11 varieties of grapes this year. We have 4 reds, 5 whites, 1 pink and 1 purple. Most varieties will have a larger crop than in 2011, though supply could be limited by demand. Refer to the charts on the home page for picking dates and prices. We hope to see you at the vineyard this fall.
